Rebecca Isbell

COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

Becca Isbell is the Communications Director for the Macheke Sustainability Project. While in this position she has increased our social following from 600 to 6,000 in the course of a few months. Recently, she lead the redevelopment of our newly updated and state-of-art website.

Becca brings an understanding of the tools and processes that function behind the scenes to make our communications campaigns and projects successful and cutting-edge. She is most known for her ability to adapt to new roles and juggle multiple responsibilities, as she has worked for both start-ups and lean non-profits where resources were scarce.

Additionally, in 2018, Becca assisted in hosting a Global Sustainability and Personal Transformation trip sponsored by the Macheke Sustainability Project. This trip took volunteers from across the United States to Macheke, Zimbabwe in a cross-cultural exchange and service trip. This extraordinary travel team raised over $15,000, with help from Becca’s organization of the fundraising effort, which allowed them to bring resources for the community, including an ambulatory vehicle and a years supply of menstrual supplies for the local primary school. If you would like to read more about the trip, you can read Becca’s blog post on it here: https://machekeproject.org/zimbabwe-education-trip-2018/

Becca currently lives in Portland, Oregon with her partner, their crew of furry beasts, and approximately four dozen house plants.
